Wear the dome cap (which stretches enough to fit into any head size) on the wig head. Get nylon thread instead of cotton thread because it holds together better and doesn’t break. Place your needle to sow through the dome cap material only and not through the elastic band so as to make your wig stretchable.
Step 2: Sewing
Begin by sewing the wig under the edge of the cap so that it can be worn in a high ponytail. Sew using the lop and full method because it is the best for secure wefts. Then make sure you secure the edge of your weft before flipping over.
Apply a new technique by laying your track in a U – Shape pattern instead of the back and forth pattern. The reason is that it would allow the track lay smoothly once you finally apply the wig to your hair. Also, don’t forget to make sure you have tight neat loop & pull stitches when sowing.
Now ensure your tracks are in upside down U shape and are not straight across. Keep sowing your tracks until you can tell that it is time to add your closure, then make sure you sew the last track all the way around. It is advisable to use an eyebrow or eyelash pencil to mark the path where your closure would go.
After doing these, it should be flat when you lay it down and no track should show when you pull it up.
Step 3: Attaching
Use a rubber band on your lace front closure to keep the hair out of the way. Firstly attach the closure on each side (left and right) and sew. Then go to the back and sow down the back portion of the closure and sew. Note that it is important to do your stitches really small and close together to avoid lifting.
Sew the last track all the way around in such a way that it would be attached to the closure.
Step 4: Final Product
Once you are done sewing, take a scissors and cut off the small area of material that was covering your closure. Then in your end result you can now add some large curls or cut some layers.
